5x5 piston door version 3.0 - Fixed

I decided to rebuild my 5x5 piston door from scratch and I tried to put most of the wiring underground this time

There isn't much to say really, you have to wait approximately 17 seconds before you can open it again, the red torch on the outside is on when you can press it.





Uploaded the schematics for both of the versions you see in the video.

can you do a 7x7 door for me?
placing 1000 tnt in an obsidian tube and pressing a butten doesn't make a cannon it makes a big mess

Pretty sure 5x5 is the biggest you can build without having to use sand blocks.

never-mind i dont need a 7X7 door my cannon fits perfectly but my game crashes when it trys  to close 1.9 prerelese oh can you change the naked one to iron that way it fits my city's lower dome and place the inner switch so i can open it from the inside

Just attach the schematic to your map with MCEdit and at the same time replace the wool with iron with MCEdits handy replace tool.


As for the button, simply download the house schematic and take a look at it, it's really easy.

I've been fiddling around with your door for maybe an hour now, and I keep running into the same problem, I have no idea what's going on. Since your circuit is so complicated I can't even begin to understand what's the issue.

Essentially the door breaks itself toward the last  bit of the opening process. It moves blocks with redstone and repeats, and I see those pop off, and then a whole column of the door gets misplaced.

This is happening with both the naked and the house versions, completely unaltered.

Aw, fiddlesticks, I thought I fixed that. The problem lies with the the last row of pistons retracting to early, but it only happens when I move/copy it in MCEdit.

I'll take a look at it later today.

My best bet is that it has something to do with how Minecraft handles south/north/east/west or that MCEdit messed it up since I built the left side first and then just copied it to the other side with MC, the left side has never messed itself up, atleast not for me.

It's probably closer to being polarity, cause I do remember running into problems with redstone torches burning out after pistons came out, but only sometimes using identical builds, and people were blaming polarity.

Anyway, it's working now pretty amazingly, I love it. I replaced the outside torch with a piston and a block so it's a bit less conspicuous, the block sticks out while the mechanism is resetting. Not sure how to repeat that for the interior, maybe later.
