Tiny Band Driven Decimal 0-9 Counter
« on: August 26, 2011, 07:40:43 PM »
This is an example of the crazy big memory capacity of the piston-driven band memory.

In a space of just 14Wx11Lx7H this band counter holds 81 bits of information.

Instead of having to count in binary and decode it into decimal, I've used each ring of 9 bits as a digit and it just cycles through them.

Amazingly, this mechanical way of processing actually updates the display torches faster than using purely redstone logic gates.

My mind is absolutely spinning thinking of uses for these bands! :D

Man, this is GENIUS. I've been trying to make a good piston counter for a few hours now, and couldn't really do it nearly as well as this. I'll probably use a modified version of it without torches :)
