I notice that MCEdit doesn't have shapes other than cube, sphere and diamond. Seems weird to me. Is there a way to add them other than fixed sized schematics?

well what you can do is build a tube and just clone it to make a longer one

Thanks deepsniper, yeah this is the best option I think. I was trying to find details (blog/twitter/anything) of the whoever made MCEdit, but there is nothing in README.txt or history.txt to say who it is. That's the smallest ego of any programmer I've ever encountered!
