Soooo I finally finished with this huge project! It's exactly what it says: a scrolling display with a fully functional keyboard and RAM. You can punch in a message up to 15 characters long using the 26 letters of the alphabet and a space button, but you do not have to use 15 every time, just however much you want. Then hit the enter button and sit back and watch the show :D I also built a glass deck up above so you can get a different view of the scroller, some people like it better. It also has an enter button up top.

I built this all on my own, from scratch, and also mostly by hand except for parts of the RAM since its just a million repeated D latches.

In the screenies, one of them is scrolling MINECRAFT across and another is showing the view from above my name, DAVIS.

I think I have fixed any problems, so it should work near flawlessly. Each button has a torch above it that will light up, so make sure you wait for the previous torch to go off before you hit the next button, or it might write two letters in the same slot. There is also a reset button that will wipe the memory, but give it some time before you start hitting buttons again, cuz it lasts longer than the indicator torch. The letters can get messed up sometimes but that is just lag, its very hard on minecraft haha it helps me if I get closer to the display, and turn my viewing distance down.

Some technical information. The Ram can hold 26 characters 15 times, so thats 390 bits or about 49 bytes of RAM! haha although it is set up to only hold one letter per slot.

This is probably my last redstone project until maybe pistons come out. I've fell like I've nearly done everything haha so let me know if you have another idea :D

Yea I know, that chair is just the spot that looks good for me, but it still does mess up sometimes unless I'm really close. Not much I can do about that since there's so much circuitry going on... I promise the circuitry isn't messed up its just lag :D haha

I don't know why the redstone wouldn't be updating, without being there to look at it. Do you have any optimizing mods or anything? You might have some mod where it doesn't let the chunks update.....

I am not too sure, but I am running a craftmod server maybe it is messing it up. Once the newest version comes out i may take off mods. I went through the schematic, but to be honest I had no clue what I was looking at. Also the next time i load the schematic how much time should I wait for words to appear to give it a solid chance. Thanks for the reply.

Took me a minute to work out where to go, but once I found the keyboard... all was well.

Just a quick question, my letter Z seems to appear as a space. Any fix for this?

hmmm... I'm not real sure what would cause this... it's hard to troubleshoot this kind of stuff without actually seeing it....
