Well, here's my first schematic.  This is mine and a couple buddies take on Atlantis.  If you're going to place it, you need a biiig hole.  Ours I want to think was 38 squares deep, but I'd double-check.  There are 2 "living" domes, the main dome which houses the city, and a botanical dome.  Also, there is the beginnings of a tunnel in system, which was cut off.  On my server it's fully operational... just a very long tunnel.  Anyways, hope you enjoy it.

Your computer cannot handle the calculations from all of the water you displaces, it has to calculate it all falling at once, try importing it and make it ignore air, then youll have to go in the domes and remove the water

that would be impossible and im pretty sure you just pulled that explanation out of your creeper.

any other ideas or howd u get it to work for you?

Actually smart creeper that is the exact reason, when you paste something under water it leaves a bunch of floating water that water needs to fall and update but if there is too much of it some computers will crash java.

when i went to it,the water seemed fine but there were floating paintings above the ocean and everything.sorry if i seemed sarcastic.

so how would i go about of correctly doing this?

If I could offer a suggestion.... cut out a big hole w/ mcedit, fill it with water.  Then, put Atlantis in that hole of water at the bottom.  If I'm right, that would take care of any problems needing to calculate for falling water because... you're placing it in water.  Make sure you don't de-select the air though if you go that route.

I had similar problems when I built it.  It started as a huge sand pit, and I just put like.. 3 rows deep of water on top of it and let it fall down... it took forever, and several crashes, before the hole filled.

whenever im in atlantis i get extreme lag, cant kill anything, commands take minutes to take place.

theres no falling water to cause the lag either i made a big hole full of water which i put it into.
