Mod Edit - Awarded the Featured Item award for a program to help build in Minecraft and is of excellence

Schematic2Blueprint

Schematic2Blueprint is a program to slize MineCraft Schematic export files into single planes. Some people like I myself lack the creativity to build something great in MineCraft, but we still enjoy building stuff. With this program, it is possible to take awesome stuff other people made (and released as Schematic files) and generate a blueprint out of them for rebuilding them.
It also supports exports in either PNG images for the single layers or animated GIF files.

It is also usefull for finding hidden stuff in the schematics, for example, the Millennium Falcon (see below) contains a hidden smuggler chamber that most people probably wouldn't even expect.

A great source for such Schematic files is the website mcschematics.com

PNG Export:

The Schematic used in the screenshots is "Millennium Falcon Flying.schematic", which is, as the name implies, the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. Megatech rebuilt it inside MineCraft and was nice enough to let people have the schematic of it, downloadable here.

Download at http://klaue.net16.net/programme/ownprogs/java/schematic2blueprint.en.php

To build this program, MCSchematicTool was used

Have fun!

PS: If you find a bug, please post it in the thread in the Minecraft Forums
is it free to download?

Good news everyone!

I updated it to 1.3.2

Let's see..
- Changed Sandstone to incorporate all the Sandstone types (normal, chiseled, smooth)
- Renamed previous wood types and added new type jungle to saplings, logs, planks and leaves
- Changed planks to incorporate different wood types
- Added inverted (upside-down) slabs to all slab types
- Added 3 new wood slab types
- Added inverted (upside-down) stairs
- Added 3 new wood stair types
- Added Cocoa Pods
- Changed levers for levers on ceilings
- Changed logs to enable sideways logs
- Added Tripwire hooks
- Added Tripwire (and the whole calculation of Tripwire layout)
- Added Emerald Block
- Added Emerald Ore
- Added Ender Chest
- Added items "Written book", "Book and Quill" and "Emerald"
- (Behind the scenes) Changed all IDs from byte to short because schematics use unsigned bytes but Java uses signed ones.

The new blocks:

----------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------

Is anyone going to take this over and update it to 1.2.5 or even the upcoming 1.3 versions and on?
Yea someone needs to take this project over and update it.
Anyone able to take over this project?
...seriously? What the **** man. Instead of offering help or anything, you demand that "someone should take it over"? Just because it took a while to update it?
Just so you know, other people have jobs. I work Mo-Fr from ~6AM to ~6PM, do you really think I have time to update it as soon as a new MC version comes out? Even this relatively simple update took about 8 hours, if not more, not counting the testing (which also took way too long because I had to install a bukkit server because every Schematic exporter is outdated besides the Bukkit WorldEdit one).
Hell, you diddn't even ask me if it would be OK if someone took it over, no, you just outright demanded it.

I'm sorry, but stuff like this just pisses me off. Frowny face.

EDIT: And nobody gave a flying creeper about the update and all the work behind it. Turns out it wasn't so urgent after all! :(

Actually, I been patiently waiting for this. The hours of work you put into this is simply outstanding. to the people being ignorant and impatient, learn to build on your own..? Be thankful someone even made this, just so you could copy someones schematic and build it yourself.

I for one appreciate the creator even took his time to update this tool, at all.
So many rude people in this world.

I've been waiting for this too, just didn't play MineCraft for the last month with GuildWars2 out, but coming back slowly.
I'm really glad it's updated now.

Many thanks, Klaue.

(I think I might now you from another forum.)

I have a bit of a problem.. oki well not a problem more an annoyance.. I have a hard time reading the  blueprint and figuring out hwo to make it look right in minecraft.

No I don't use MCedit, I merely want to view the layers so I can hand build it myself.

First of all, let me apologize, I was not demanding anything, simply asking if it was going to be updated from another source, I thought the program was at it's final update at that time and would not be updated again by the creator so that is why i was asking if someone  was going to take over and continue on with it. Now I see what I had read was wrong and you are still updating it, which I am head over heels excited for. I love this program and there isn't anything like it out there. I think you have done an amazing job with this. I know a lot of work and time went into this. So, thank you for this program, and again I am sorry if what I said upset you in anyway, it was not intended, I was not demanding anything, just asking questions with the wrong information I was given.

That's great! Just know that I have no Xbox and never played MC there, so if there are some differences, I wouldn't know about them

As  for updating.. The "pretty scary" update includes a multitude of blocks, including complicated ones like the command block, so I dunno how long it'll be 'til I get around to do it. I hope it'll be within this year :P

Sorry about the huge error thing i just can't seem to understand what's wrong with it, i've used the program since the first day you released it to be used, and never once did i have this issue, and honestly i cant stand using mcedit (which doesn't run on here anyway lol) i'd rather stick to what i know, even my husband uses it and a few of our friends. i'm the only odd ball with the issue, maybe i am truly jinxed. Hope it can be fixed otherwise i'm really going to be sad i love this program :(

Amazing program, just the thing i was looking for, but i have a question, for the bigger schematics it says the program doesnt have enough memory, what does that mean, is it a solvable problem or is it a default thing?
