I agree, but I've realized that maybe it's too early to be amazed now, considering the finished project is going to be much more amazing :P

Absolutely not no. I first need to finish Ora septum. I'm having trouble by chosing the way I will release this one. I can chose to release it without any spoilers but then it may look a bit empty or I'll release it in a way it will show what it's actually meant to be. In both cases, it will be more of a demo than a finished product as long as the whole project ain't finished.

I've tried to make a schematic of 1/4 of the island because it's .. huge. Result :

exporting 471.859.200 blocks.. 14400 chunks..

I can already tell, there won't be a schematic of that. Only a world save of 4000 blocks long and large.

That means that at some point, I needed to copy a part of the island. Instead of copying this part which actually represents 1/4 of the total surface of the finished map, I exported it as a schematic to see what size it would have. When I did so, I realized that MCEdit was exporting 470 million blocks on 14400 chunks and making out of that a 50 MB heavy schematic.

That would mean, if I export the totality of my map into a schematic, it would be 4 times heavier. In a final state that means 2 billion blocks; 60 thousand chunks to relight !

And that for, I have no other solution then to release it only as a World save :)

And also, this is only the size of Ora septum. Imagine all the other, past and future projects, added to it.

You are kidding me! 470 million blocks?

I've just made a moonscape map to fulfill a request for someone, took me longer than planned, and it's certainly not polished, but thats 500x500 and takes up 32 million blocks... 470 is like, like.... whoah!

You should be employed as Notch's special world creator or something, your projects are brilliant!

And there was a polish guy who got employed as an architect after a company saw his minecraft creations, im sure you could do the same easily :D
