so pretty much i can't do this because you have to pay to hold on to a domain name.

Well then you need to go the route of a free forum host that hosts your forum for you, gives sometimes limited access to what you can administrate on the forum and in exchange for showing their advertisements then you get the hosted forum for free.


Sorry, No, I don't know any free forum hosts as I stay away from them as I don't like to be limited in any way when it comes to administer a forum I feel I need the full control of the software and not just what the host allows.  I'm sure there are some out there that give full control over the forum but I've never gone looking for them as I feel a domain name is important if you want to seriously attract people, so here they come to mcschematics.com something relatively easy to remember, where as with a free host it might be something like mcschematics.freehostname.com
or forum.mcschematics.freehost.domain.com  or something like that.

Plus, although rare, in some cases you are at the mercy of the host staying in business, and let's face it advertisments don't sell that well so some hosts go out of business relatively soon, so you are at there mercy for as how long they might stay in business to host you. If you own a domain name you only need to pay 10 to 15 or so a year for the domain name and if your host goes out of business, you go find another host and pay them their monthly or yearly payment to host you and get what you need, either a regular hosting account or a virtual private server or a private server that is all your own where you don't have to worry about how many resources you use on the hosted server.

Quick question what happened to Vakarain his name is now Deleted Accounts

He deleted his account one day during a period of time recently where members could self delete their own account (this has been changed now) for reasons that are known to him I suppose.


And when accounts are either deleted or removed by mods and or myself it leaves behind a trace element known as a phantom Guest account that looks like a guest account has been posting messages and since this confuses people, what I do is to take any of these phantom guest accounts now and just transfer all messages, topics and attachments to the account known as Deleted Accounts.

We seem to be losing many of the old favourites... it makes me . Lost of people including Conboy, Tryne, harlund, Dragonrider and now Vak - left. (I'm sure that list is missing heaps but those were the main ones I remember feeling sad about not seeing).

Yes, here amd on PMC i see a lot of people going missing. It is sad to see, feels like minecraft is dying.

I know right...old friends disappearing into mist, floating away to somewhere else...hopefully to make new friends, and continue this cycle.  *Sighs sadly*

Kinda off-topic: I'm almost a Gold Miner, I'll be one within a few days... :D   (Not that it matters...just...soooo shiny! Lol.)
