The Wizard's Keep
« on: July 16, 2012, 11:55:48 AM »
This is my first schematic I am posting for people to see, It is somewhat incomplete as i am still considering what to build for the second side of the town. A few buildings need to be complete and the internals of the keep need to be finished. HOWEVER, i want honest opinions of what i have so far and possibly see if anyone else wants to put their own flare on my project here.

This was created in survival mode with no mods. everything i obtained i got from mining and / or sheers / tree punching. Please be honest yet polite in your feedback.

CREDITS:
I used Ghost's Rustic Texture Pack for the textures. I loved this texture pack for this build, not sure how others will look.

EDIT: name because village didn't seem very fitting

EDIT: WIZARDS KEEP 2.0 LINK ON ANOTHER POST!!!

well since i haven't gotten downloads or feedback yet, i will just post what i was hoping to get advice/feedback on.

1. the stairs to go up to the top of the tower.
2. the look/operation of the front gate
3. The terrain around the tower, i was going for a natural look to make it seem more blended with the hill.
4. The farms / harvesters. should i put roads between the pens?

It looks nice so far, the stairs are slightly annoying, having to jump but they work. When I tried out your gate the left side didn't work, so I had a look at your wiring and you seem to have a piston facing down at the right side that cuts the connection for the left (not sure if thats meant to be like that or if there's some sort of error in the pasting of the schematic). The terrain is perfect, very beautiful, I love the natural look. Your harvester for the sugarcane didn't work until I punched afew of the plants and then some of the cane went off to a side instead of to the middle, but otherwise clever, the wheat harvester is perfect. Roads between then pens? Mehhh  not really needed.

Thanks for the feedback the gate must be a past error from the schematic because both sides work perfectly for me. ill be putting up fencing on the sugarcane so that it does not go in the middle, and once you turn that water supply off from the sugar cane you only need to hit one and the entire side will come down. once the fence is up to stop the middle drops that should work perfectly. I really appreciate your feedback :D

UPDATES:
1. Stairs in the Keep
2. Sugarcane harvester
3. Small additions to furnishings

UPDATED 2.0!

ADDED:
Church
Some extra furnishings
Changed the road
lighting

Again this is done entirely without mods or giving myself anything. So please give me some credit for building on survival, dealing with zombies and more annoying creepers.
