Small House
« on: July 12, 2012, 09:52:56 PM »
Hi all, this is my very first time making and posting a schematic. It is a smallish house that includes a porch, entry, kitchen, lounge, small toilet area, a library with enchantment table, brewing stand, bath/shower and a bedroom. Also includes lighting so you don't have to worry about monsters spawning inside. Feedback, comments and suggestions are welcome.

This house is quite well made. It's pretty small and in a few places it's kinda cramped. I quite like your working shower, most people that have baths/showers have them on the whole time but yours can be toggled on and off, which is cool. I liked the TV with the note blocks as speakers. Your fireplace has too much glass for my liking, I personaly think stone brick looks better but the chimney with the fire just at the top so you could see smoke was well done.

Also what texture pack is that? Or is it just an older version you took the screenshots in?

Thanks, the glass was a rather random idea I had, I think next time I will make it either brick or stone. I'll also make it bigger to avoid cramping. The texture pack is called CoterieCraft.

CoterieCraft is pretty cool. Finally a texture pack with good iron blocks.

Version 2 of the house is now ready. I took the feedback and I made the house bigger and I changed the fireplace, I kept the majority of the styling but I also added afew nice decorations. First version will remain available for download, new version on this post.

You've made it much bigger this time. Nice and spacious You can probably put in a bit more furniture in it now. The bedroom could probably have a double bed or 2 single beds and the room with the enchating table could have a table and chairs or something like that. Besides that you did a good job.

I actually didn't want to go too crazy with adding furniture so that people could add some of their own flair to the house.

I really like this house C: I'm currently working on building on a survival server I'm a moderator on. There's a few things about it that I don't really like, but overall it's great C: One change I would suggest making is in the kitchen area, instead of putting the dispenser above the floor, I put it at the same level as the cyan wool, and then placed an iron block above it, with the button there, and then a second iron block on it. So it's an all white fridge, that's still functional C: And with the TV I used a painting to make a picture. C: Also, with the windows, I took out the layer closest to the inside of the house, and made some do the windows kind of 'sit-in's. I think it looks cute.

Great house!! C:

I'm glad you like it. I'll try out that fridge idea next time I make a place with a kitchen, it sounds rather neat. I actually don't like the pictures that minecraft has available, that's why I left it as black wool (pretend its turned off until you want to watch it). I never really considered sit-in's but I did consider making a flower bed instead of the outer layer of windows. I'm glad you can add your own ideas to the house though.

Very good for a first build here. Noticed you have put a few others up though since this. I especially liked the modified version you did.

And now give credit to the real maker of this house... All you did was change/design the interior.
