Castle Help
« on: September 15, 2012, 07:36:44 AM »
Hi, I've undertaken an epic journey of building myself a massive scale castle, I want it to be completely functional (as in has the right things in it, such as murder holes, arrow slits, traps and the like, I suppose authentic would be a better term). I currently have two out of six towers complete (besides decoration and functionality). When I got to the decorating part, particularly the arrow slits, I wasn't quite happy with the way they looked.

This is the way I have them at the moment:
 :stone: :stone: :stone:
 :stone: :air: :stone:
 :stone: :stair: :stone:

 :stone:=Stone Bricks
 :stair:=Stone Stairs

Stairs are facing so that the tiered side is outside.

is there a better way of doing it so it looks better?

that looks pretty decent, I can't quite work out how to make it tho, what I can work out is:

I think I just got it.

yeah I did, looks like a good idea, however looks like it relies on a dispenser for the arrow shots and visibility from the slits in the side is very poor for views on the ground (I can see better when I jump =D) I'd rather not use redstone any further then I have at the moment (working drawbridge and portcullis)
