Schematic Issues
« on: July 10, 2012, 08:04:31 PM »
I am having extreme issues via Schematic Download.  I am using WinRaR to open up the download for Mcedit as told so I can open the schematics. My cpu is not the best, and cannot even run Minecraft without extensive lag.  I need to figure out : 1 : What do I use to get Mcedit on my cpu? 2 : Do I even need Mcedit?  3 : Once I have installed it, how do I transport the schematic?  I DO NOT have Minecraft for the CPU, I have it for the Xbox.   Just looking to pull up schematics here and translate them over the best I can to Xbox.

Please help and provide Step-by-step instructions!  As I am not a coder, and do NOT understand ANYTHING about command prompt/WinRaR/Schematics.    First time ever using any of these things.

^    All I'd need is some redstone, cobblestone, and a couple pistons to survive.  Be very bored, but survive.

Ouch, that's a little hard to understand. Are you foreign language and using a free translator? Those can cause problems in what you try to say/
But it seems you are planning to get blueprints to build with for the xbox version. MCEdit is not a guide to build, it's to put the pre-built schematic directly into your world. I suggest Schematic2Blueprint, here: http://www.mcschematics.com/index.php?topic=2405.0 . If you do get the computer version and would like to try MCEdit, I reccommend This tutorial by Nefashus. Good luck!

Cool, link fixed. Back to doing useless stuff.

Ok, found the website.  Using WinRaR to open it up, which files do I extract and to where?   The .. folder is my downloads, all of them.

Which should I extract and to what files?

Mhmm. Well if you are still having trouble, I went and created a picture tutorial for you - http://imgur.com/a/7kQf5
1. Extract the files from the .zip
2. Open the jar - or, if winrar tries to open it instead of java, open the windows bat file. Image 2 shows the program, with me hovering over the option to open a schematic.
3. Image 3, navigate to the schematic file and click it, hit open, ie. standard procedure for opening files on windows.
Image 4, 5: how to adjust layers.
Image 6, 7: handy options that may be useful to you.
Did that help you better? If I missed anything just say so.

Thank you!  Figured it out from there.  One more quiz LOL!!    How do I add more memory to S2B?   Trying to open the Redstone Cathedral Schematic on it.  It says it ran out of memory whilst loading it.

Everything else though, I am doing well with.
Oddly enough, I was able to open a file, just as large.  But it won't load the Cathedral.
