awesome giant nether fortress!
« on: May 22, 2012, 12:11:06 PM »
hey guys i've made a giant nether fortess!
made in the nether.
i finally finished this build it took me about 10 hours to make this.
the complete fortress is bigger but if i copy the complete fortress, the schematic would be way too big.

features:
- glass al around the area (even at the ceiling!) to prevent lava flowing out of the area.
-a small entrance to the area, if you want me to make it bigger, just comment.
-"nether"written above the entrance
- a chest near the entrance, with a some stuff to help you come into some areas, if you are in survival, and have no flymod or something like that.
-a nether-like area around the fortress
- a little maze inside the fortress

feel free to use it in a server or singleplayer! but if it's in a server, i do LIKE to have my name on it(you don't HAVE to do this but it would be nice)

i will be doing the end soon!

download:
(i will upload the pics soon because i can't upload them in one time, the schematic is too big)

The general rule of a post or topic in which you present a downloadable schematic is that you include pictures. People (Including myself) do not trust a post in which no pictures are presented. Leading to the exclamation: "No pics, no clicks"

No offense, but it looks like all you did was add a glass ceiling after you found a pre-existing nether fortress. Am I confused?

nope....
and you can remove the glass with MCedit: select the schematic, press 4 and select "glass" from the GUI.
then press r and select "air" and then press enter!
then it should show a progress bar, if it's ready, you should see that the whole schematic is turning red, then press CTRL + S, and it's done!
sorry if you knew this already, just in case you didn't :D
thanks for keeping my threads alive :D
(the function of the glass, is to keep the lava inside and prevent eventual mobs to go away and attack you....but i understand what you mean:) )

Thanks-much better than having to select all of that with WorldEdit..... XD

Fyi  the adventure map is like nether survival although it's in the real world-the real world is all barren and hellish, while the nether is now overly forested and it's like some kind of jungle. I used WorldPainter to change the material of the world to be netherrack, soul sand and glowstone. Then I replaced all the water with lava. Next I changed the biome of the whole world to be Hell--ghasts, zombie pigmen and magma cubes spawn there now! >:D

Yes! It's still way into the development though, and this nether fortress will help give it more of a nethery feel.
