Submerged buildings (sea and land!)
« on: May 18, 2012, 04:55:47 PM »
Hey MC community,

Haven't had much time to model new apt buildings with work, but I did have time to try out an idea using MCedit.

By unchecking the "copy air" box when importing, I submerged one of my buildings partially underwater and another with just the roof sticking out of the desert.  Should be interesting to explore, may connect to some underground caverns.

Would make for a neat post-apocalyptic scenario.  Perhaps you were trapped underground during an A-bomb blast and have to make it up and outside or there may be buried treasure you have to explore and go in to get.

Try sticking a few skyscrapers in the sea to give it that semi-submerged city feeling, could be quite cool.

Find a fairly shallow but large bay and put a city in it, partially submerged. "No one could guess that even into the late 21 century many coastal cites still lacked the technology to effectively cope with the massive rise in sea levels inevitable from global temperature spikes" Or perhaps have a city, put a massive block of gravel over it, hit it (So that it falls and covers the city) and call it volcanic ash.
