Large Tropical Island

Very large Island. uninhabited.
lakes, waterfalls, expansive cave systems and all surrounded by water.
I made this map after seeing alot of requests for something like this.

For me this seems like a Robinson Crusoe style map. should be fun to explore and what not. 

the edges of the map are not the best. (the ocean drops down deep) but this is hardly noticeable if your main focus is the island and not the far out areas of water. iv done work to help polish this.

One other problem im having is the biomes i would like to find a way to preset the levels biome to rain-forest but i dont know how to do that.  if anyone knows pm me and ill fix it.

i hope its ok, i plan to make 2 maps using this,
1 is a small island with multiple towns from different cultures.
and 2, an adventure map where you go around and try to solve a mystery.
would you have any quarel with my uploading this schematic with my improvements when it is evntually done?

completely, someone should make a tutorial on how to make islands like this, because I have no idea how to :D

this is basically a very fancy cut and paste job.

Step 1
find an island. easier said than done.. trust me.
explore the island in its entirety.

step 2
got to MC-edit and cut the whole thing out save the schematic. 

step 3
i used a flat grass map but turned the grass into ocean. (there is probably a better way of doing this.)
Paste your schematic into the ocean.

Step 4
step 4 for me was frustrating. the flat grass map was entirely Blue grass. so the island was entirely bluegrass
so i cut the whole island out again and put it back on the map from which i cut the original island from. but this time included the ocean.  this also allowed me to extend the cave systems because the flat grass map was entirely dirt. 

Step 5
With the biomes pretty much as good as i could get them.  you should go threw the map and clean up eyesores.
(im still doing that)

Step 6 upload your save to reputable site for distribution.

the problem is that while making all of the cuts and pastes you are dealing with block counts in the hundreds of millions. the processing of each paste takes A LONG TIME! then you have to save lol. which is about double the time of the paste.

but if you have the patience to do all of this you get something beautiful.

im still trying to clean up the eyesores of the island for a second release. that by far takes the longest.
