WTC Style Tower - 2 floor section (empty)
« on: March 05, 2012, 03:48:16 PM »
Hello everyone! I just wanted to quickly test the new 256 block limit in anvil with the latest worldedit build so I really quickly knocked up a two-storey tower section and cloned it all the way up to the limit!

It looked quite cool so here it is for you to try.  It is mostly empty apart from a few torches and some interior walls. It has a hole in the middle for stairs/fountains/elevators. Sorry if this is an inconvenience to anyone, but you should easily be able to put your own interior in this section then re-copy and paste it.

It works better as a 2 storey section in worldedit on a server because you're not pasting a huge number of blocks.

The origin is in the middle-ish so stand near where you want the middle of the tower before you //paste then use /top, place a block beneath you and //paste again. Rinse and repeat until you have the desired size! (note there is a ceiling and floor layer between each floor)

Finally, I didn't really intend for it to look like the WTC towers before anyone flames me - it just came out that way by accident. I think it looks cool though

Happy towering!

Pretty cool, gave it a shot.  I have a 5x5 stairwell that I use, that may be of use to you.

Oh yeah, you can't use anything even remotely-resembling WTC because you may offend someone.

All movies made between around 1970 to 2001 must be edited to have the towers removed.

Any time two trees grow next to each other of the same height one must be cut down because otherwise it will look like and remind people of WTC.

So you can have a single tower, you may have three, but you can't have two of equal height.  Any existing architecture (Petronas Towers, etc.) are going to need to be altered at some point.

This is in the real world, not just Minecraft.

Well then, I guess.. OMG LOOK!!! THOSE TREES!!! THEY ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACHOTHER AND OF EQUAL HIGHT!!!!

This looks very nice, I like buildings like this, it is just that they take forever to furnish xD.
