How to use this site
« on: February 17, 2012, 05:42:10 PM »

How to use this site:

1)   Sign up if you haven’t already!

Click the sign up button.
A big user agreement page will pop up, READ and then press the: I accept the terms of agreement.

Fill out the registration form!

Now you have an account! With this account you can now download any user uploaded schematic of your choice!

2)   How to find the schematics you want:

The news section in the upper right corner will let you know any important information at that time.

The search bar will allow you to look for any topic, or schematic, that you could ever want!

Use the toolbar to nagivate to the forum to browse the schematics and topics

Find the schematic and press the the .schematic file to download

3)   What do once you find what you want.

MCEdit:
This is a very helpful tool for many minecrafters that alows the user to change their minecraft world on a larger scale. It can be found here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/13807-mcedit-minecraft-world-editor-compatible-with-mc-beta-18/ With this tool, you can add massive amounts of blocks fast, delete blocks, change blocks, or "import" schematic files. These schematic files are what you find on here.

Step by step:
1) get acquainted with MCEdit.
2) Use this site to find a schematic that you like. All the schematics here are made by someone else, like me, we create the building in minecraft and then upload it to this site for anyone to download to use in their world/server.
3) Download the schematic you want by finding the attachment that should be with all their pictures.
4) Download!
5) Go to MCEdit, MAKE SURE YOUR MINECRAFT.EXE IS COMPLETELY ClOSED!!!!!
6) press the import button (Highlited with a yellow box in this picture)

7) Place the schematic where you want it by clicking to place it and the NUDGE button for precision.
8) Click enter to import it.
9) Press CTRL-S to save it.
10) When it is done saving, exit the program out, then go into your minecraft world and it will be right where you put it!

That is the point of this site, so you can put someone elses creations into your world!

4)   How to upload a schematic.

Using MCEdit, select what you want to upload, the press the copy button on the tool bar that pops up. It will then pop into the corner of the window. Press save. Now you have the .schematic file! Go to the forum and find the correct section, and press new topic. Give a description and then press add attachments at the bottom. Upload the .schematic file and a few pictures. Press publish and you are done!

5)   Forum Reputation

There is a rate the schematic feature at the top of all the forum topics. RATE THE SCEMATICS!!!

Give the original poster reputation by pressing the underneath their name.

After a certain number of posts, you will get medals

After you reach 100 posts you will go from to and you will keep receiving these.

Nice, this should help any new users. We need to keep bumping this thread though, it explains how to use schematics and tons of people ask how to use them.
Please give me diamonds, as they will go to funding the C.S.D.P.(Creeper Spawn Destroyer Project). DOWN WITH CREEPERS! XD (Gold ingots are also accepted!)

Thanks for the tutorial! However, I have tried posting a schematic on this forum (under buildings, public infrastructures) twice so far and each time I click post, it does not show up on the forum or my profile (under post). Any suggestions? I have followed the instructions of this topic exactly.

Good tutorial, although I think you should mention the index.php error somewhere and how to fix the problem. (A browser that isn't Firefox or renaming the file with the correct extension)

So, for example, how would I build Matioshka's Mechacreeper on a server? I don't really understand how MCedit has anything to do with schematics, I just thought I would get a simple layered blueprint explaining how to build the creation, not to copy and paste it. I'm really confused :/
How would I put one of these builds in a server? Please explain!

If the server is locally running (i.e. you're running the server on your own computer at home) then you simply use mcedit to import the schematic and paste it where you want it on the server.  If the server is running online and being hosted by somebody or some company, but you have admin rights to it, then you can either...

1. Download all the server files locally and do as I say above or.
2. Use worldedit if the server admin has it installed on the server to import the schematic and paste it where you want it on the server.

Mcedit copies the data that you highlight using mcedit in your world and exports all of that data to a schematic file, so basically mcedit can both export and import schematics.  World edit I believe does basically the same thing only on the server.

No, none of the schematics stored on this site are just blueprints that you would print out and then build the object by hand.

Somewhere, stickied on this site, is a topic for a program that converts your newly downloaded schematic file into an easily read blueprint. ( Schematic2Blueprint is the name. )
