3D print your models with the free Mineways program

Mineways is a program that exports Minecraft models to 3D models suitable for 3D printers. I just finished it, it's free & open source.

Here's an example on Shapeways, of a model I grabbed off this site (I'm in the process of asking the author for permission).

The author never replied to my request, so I've made the model for sale at my Shapeways store (at no profit to me), mostly as proof that the process works. I could have made the model much smaller (and cheaper) by going to 2 mm, or even 1 mm and making the model twice as thick, such as this one here.

I'm glad someone's noticed it here. Mineways seems like a perfect thing for the MCSchematics community, but I haven't been able to generate much interest. For something truly epic done with Mineways, check this out. Here's a taste:



In other news, I got permission from the author to sell the Megaman build in my Shapeways store (again, no profit to me, I'm doing this just for fun).
